1. Note Data is Stored Locally

Hold That is a local note-taking utility. All notes, drafts, and text content you write in the application are stored exclusively on your local device (in a local sandboxed file on your Mac). We do not have servers, and none of your text contents, private data, or notes are ever uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third parties.

2. Anonymous Usage Analytics

To help us improve the app interface, reliability, and functionality, Hold That collects basic, anonymous usage statistics via PostHog. The collected data is strictly diagnostic and cannot be linked to you. This includes:

• Application lifecycle events (when the app is opened, closed, or launched).
• Generic screen geometries (whether the device has a notch, active screen resolution, and menu bar dimensions).
• UI interactions (switching between the Today and Yesterday tabs, using keyboard shortcuts like Bold/Italic/Underline).
• Aggregated word count categories (e.g. whether a note is categorized as "short" or "medium"). We do not read or collect the text content itself.

3. Opt-Out of Analytics

You have full control over your telemetry preferences. You can completely opt-out of sharing anonymous usage statistics at any time by unchecking "Share Anonymous Analytics" directly inside the application's status bar menu on your Mac.
